At work together
Our coffee project in Colombia saw the light of day in October of 2014. And now, seven months later, it is already bearing fruit.
In the Santander region, they do not have sufficient knowledge of the latest IT and communication technologies. But that is about to change. The brand new IT rooms will allow us to teach young people the necessary knowledge. Knowledge that they need to harvest their coffee beans. In the next few months, we want to modernise these IT rooms.
We also proposed our agricultural project for young people to the community. And with good results; they welcomed the initiative with open arms. There was just one problem: right before we started out project, the petroleum industry in the region got a boost, which attracted a young workforce. That is why we increased the participants' maximum age from 25 to 32. Because there is enough work to go around.
This also allowed us to put together a first group. 30 young people are now starting their own agricultural projects. Definitely to be continued!
