Just become an ambassador ... and invited by the king

On Wednesday 3 June 2015, Adisco, a Burundian organisation, was awarded the King Baudouin African development prize.

As an ambassador for the Collibri project in Burundi I was invited to attend the ceremony. But I was also enroled for a personel growth training in the same week...Quite a dilemma for an ambassador!

But I soon felt I made the right choice: the training was a great physical experience and the meeting with Deogratias Niyonkuru, secretary general of Adisco, arranged for me by the King Baudouin Foundation afterwards, was both personal and heartwarming. The feeling that 'it's right' can be so nice: after having physically felt that the strength of leadership is not to be found in content expertise, but in personal fulfilment and alchemy, I had the pleasure of hearing the ideals of Deogratias.

With great conviction, he emphasized financial means and technical training, but more importantly, human values and confidence as the lever to allow Africa to grow. An inspiring thought to take with me on my Collibri journey to Burundi.
