Banana action for Senegal: thanks for your support!
From 22 to 25 March, we organised a banana action for our education project in Senegal.
At Bio-Planet, Colruyt, OKay and Spar, we sold bananas under the motto of 'Every little helps!'. And they really did help; the action brought in 21.268 euros. Colruyt Group had promised to double the proceeds. This resulted in a total amount of 42.537 euros. A splendid sum!
In Senegal, many young people forced to give up their school studies, and this primarily affects girls. But if we can offer them mentoring and suitable means, this could all change. For the better. With our project we want to make sure girls in Tambacounda finish school.
The bananas were sold in Colruyt Group stores across Belgium. But we also took our Collibri Foundation stand to the group's head office. Our ambassadors made sure the bananas sold like hot cakes.
And thanks to our customers and the commitment of the ambassadors, the action was a great success! No wonder, our bananas are not only delicious and organic; they also feed the future opportunities for youngsters in difficult circumstances.
